In the year 2000, as just a young lad, Dr. Mike began his 17-year journey in healthcare as a rehab trainer at a chiropractic clinic. 9 years later he earned a bachelors degree in human psychology and a doctorate degree in chiropractic. Afterward, on his pursuit of success for himself and his clients, he found some success, but mostly failures as a sports rehab chiropractor. In 2013, he uncovered his true passion as an educator after creating and instructing a Kinesiology course at California State University to pre-physical therapy students. After working with over 10,000 patients in person, Dr. Mike recognized the pitfalls that existed within the broken healthcare system that caused the majority of patients to fail to achieve the outstanding results they were capable of. It was then that he committed to a higher purpose: inspiring the world to transform pain into a powerful mind and body. The result of the dedicated effort is what you know as MoveU.
Personally, Dr. Mike is a passionate spearfisherman and golfer and also enjoys action sports such as jiu-jitsu, mountain biking, and basket weaving.
MoveU Co-Founder, Program Creator
Andrew was a Kinesiology student at California State University when he became an intern at Dr. Mike’s clinic in 2013. Shortly after that he severely injured his lower back, more specifically he had a 10mm disc herniation at L4/L5. Three surgeons and a bunch of physical therapists and trainers told him that surgery was his only option if he wanted a chance to live a normal life again.
Andrew refused surgery because he believed there was a better option. Dr. Mike tried to help him with adjustments, massage, stretching, and every other therapy, but nothing worked long term. Andrew devoted the next 2 years to rehabbing himself. Through education, trial and error, and deep determination he was able to figure out how to properly position and move his body to heal his pain and prevent re-injury. He is now in the best shape of his life and living with no limitations.
His mission is to help everyone develop the confidence in their body that he has in his own. His knowledge of body mechanics is extensive and his personal experience with overcoming significant injury has been a source of great inspiration to many.
Abbey serves as a coach within the online community, providing positive instruction and support in movement and mindset.
In January 2018, after experiencing chronic pain, Abbey joined the MoveU Program, where she fell in love with the support the community offered from movement to mindset. She immediately knew that MoveU was something she wanted to be a part of because of the contagious culture of like-minded individuals with a shared mission.
She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading, laughing at dad jokes and terrible puns, eating all the ice cream, exploring new places, spending time on the water, and participating in CrossFit. Abbey is most passionate about helping others, giving back to the community and empowering others to be great!
Ashley is the MoveU Anatomy Artist and creative mind behind the sticker-looking muscle paintings. You are correct… they ARE NOT stickers.
She grew up in sunny California and has a BFA in Biomedical Illustration.
Fun fact: Her first claim to fame was illustrating an editorial piece for Beanie Baby Magazine at age 10. Also, she loves sandwiches.
MoveU Coach, Customer Service
Bobby studied accounting and finance at Virginia Tech. He loved to play baseball and was very active and working out until back pain affected his life for over 4 years. Bobby joined the MoveU Forever Fix Program in September 2017, where he learned about how to improve his body and address the root cause of his “chronic” pain. He quickly emerged as a leader within the online community, where he coached and inspired others.
Bobby left his job as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for a Big 4 accounting firm in New York City to join the MoveU team in July 2018. He serves as a coach within the online community, teaching movement and mindset to support each member’s success within the program. Bobby is passionate about helping others achieve the same life-changing experience through the program as he did.
As a marketing professional, personal trainer, and MoveU member, David wears many hats. Ranging from running the blog to the YouTube channel to creating marketing campaigns and assisting community members.
Almost three years ago, David set a goal to work with MoveU. Two years and a two thousand mile cross-country move later, that dream became a reality.
David is from Chicago and has no cool surfing skills….yet. He loves all forms of exercise from weightlifting to yoga, and only enjoys golfing only when I’m having a good round. He can’t wait to keep exploring the nature California has to offer, along with a book or three.
ETIENNE DE BRUIN
Chief Technology Officer
Etienne was born and raised in South Africa. At the tender age of 13 he (did not) conquer(ed) a lion and (did not) eat it’s heart as a right of passage.
Instead he programmed computers all day and eventually got his Computer Science degree at Stellenbosch University.
He and his wife moved to Germany for a few years before landing in beautiful San Diego where he started CTO’ing stuff. He now does that for MoveU. He loves it.
Hank points cameras at people and things. He likes making boring people laugh more than anything in the world.
Nothing is good enough for him, so don’t try to impress him.
James is a Texas native who recently moved to San Diego after living in Chicago for three years. No matter what city he finds himself living in, he enjoys integrating himself into the local health and fitness culture. James has been involved in personal training and video editing for the past 10 years and finds himself happiest when he finds creative and innovative ways to combine his greatest passions – fitness and film. “Greatest passions” might be an exaggeration – his greatest passion is truly his 6-pound chihuahua, Foxy, who loves neither fitness nor film.
James has a lot of grey hair from two decades of helping young companies grow up. He loves providing technical consultation, human resource management, contract negotiations, new business development, and system integration management and has led start-ups and high-growth organizations through explosive market growth — all before breakfast.
A former firefighter, EMT, and police officer he is passionate about serving others.

At MoveU, she is responsible for web design, and all marketing assets. Her hobbies include yoga, CrossFit, reading, and traveling the world. She’s the proud mother of the MoveU dog, Luna.
