We assume that you have pain, don’t like the way you look, or the way you feel. We’re willing to bet that either a nurse, chiropractor, or doctor told you that you have Scoliosis, correct? Did they tell you what to do about it? We know that you want answers and that you also want to feel better.
The standardized method of determining if a person has Scoliosis is an x-ray that shows more than 10 degrees of lateral (sideways) curvature of the spine. This is called “The Cobb Angle”.
Let’s say that you have been diagnosed with Scoliosis and that the result of the imbalances from your abnormal curvature of the spine is pain or dysfunction. The word Scoliosis is as abused as the word “stress”. It gives you an answer – but with absolutely no strategy on what to do about it. Unfortunately, there are many unknowns with scoliosis. Searching for answers to unanswerable questions will lead you down the road of frustration. So what do you do? Do you hold on to that diagnosis and blame your problems on “Scoliosis”. No!
Let’s step back and look at the bigger picture. The only thing that you can control – are the things you have control over. You have the ability to take control, so take control of what you can today!
Physically, you have the ability to control your flexibility, your strength, and your balance. You can also test each side and determine your weaknesses or imbalances – and improve upon them. Mentally, by taking control of your body- you will empower your mind and gain confidence. You will learn. You will discover. You will be able to live an amazing life. You just have to make the choice to do so.
You must quit blaming “Scoliosis” for your problems and take action. You must put your knowledge to the test and become a practitioner, meaning that you practice what you learn. You must do this daily until it becomes a habit. Until you don’t have to think about, you just do it.
Everyone has their own problems, some people just have the ability to take control and handle them better than others. It’s time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. YOU CAN DO THIS!
